Low Fat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Try these soft, chewy chocolate chip treats. Applesauce replaces some of the butter making these low fat cookies just as good as the traditional recipe.

Preparation: 45 minutes  
Time-To-Table: 55 minutes  
Serves: Makes about 4 dozen
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup applesauce
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup (4 oz.) Better'n Eggs®
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Better'n Eggs

Instructions:
    1. Heat oven to 350° F. In large bowl combine applesauce, butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat with electric mixer until well mixed. Add Better'n Eggs. Beat just until mixed. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.

    2. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Flatten cookie slightly. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Let stand 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
